Colorado Safety Association goes to work for you when it comes to getting employees or contractors trained in safety basics.  We offer orientations geared toward general industry and construction.  When combined with site specific training - you'll have the bases covered!  Come preview these orientations to see how they can fit your training needs!

Basic Orientation Plus (8:00 am to 12:00 pm)

The purpose of the Basic Orientation Plus® orientation is to inform the new contractor employee of general safety rules, regulations, practices, and principles associated with the construction and contract maintenance/services industry, as well as, re-informing and updating the experienced employee. This course will qualify as an OSHA mandated orientation. The following topics are covered in this orientation:
• Hazard Communication (HazCom), GHS and Chemical Safety
• Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
• Process Safety Management (PSM)
• Hearing Conservation
• Electrical Safety Related Work Practices for Non-Qualified Workers
• Lockout/Tagout
• Respiratory Protection
• Elevated Work, Fall Protection, Scaffolding and Ladders
• General Rules & Emergency Procedures
• Accident Prevention, Signs and Tags
• Materials Handling and Storage
• Job Safety Analysis (JSA), Job Hazard Analysis (JHA)
• Excavation, Trenching & Shoring
• Emergency Action Plans
• General Safety and Emergency Procedures
• Fire Prevention

Safety Builder Construction Orientation (12:30 pm to 4:30 pm)

 This course is specifically designed for newly hired and temporary construction workers as an introduction to the basic elements of workplace safety. It will provide a common sense approach to construction safety to teach them to stay safe and productive in the field. This session applies to both commercial and residential companies. This class is also a good refresher for experienced workers. Topics of discussion include:
• Understanding OSHA
• Employee and Employer Responsibilities for Construction Safety
• Hazards in Construction
• Hazard Communication
• Confined Space
• Material Handling
• Personal Protective Equipment
• Scaffold Safety
• Ladder Safety
• Fall Protection
