The manufacturing and construction workforce is aging at an alarming rate with fewer skilled tradesmen entering the profession. Within lean thinking-- Employee health and safety are the overriding objectives, but it centers on the company’s productivity/ efficiency improvements in their business operations. Motion is indeed money in the manufacturing/construction business, which rely on employees’ physical ability to accomplish job tasks. Recognizing opportunities to minimize manufacturing/construction workers movement is the start toward a more healthful and efficient operation. Walking, bending, carrying, pushing, pulling and working overhead are classic examples of movement in the workplace. 

A shift is required to focus on differentiating between value and waste – e.g. to do more with less. Learn the methods (with examples) used to achieve quantifiable results that enhance production, increase efficiency, improve quality and reduce employee risk factors that positively impact your bottom-line profitability.
